What we treat

What we treat

Evaluation

Your clinician takes a full history of your symptoms, cycles, sleep, mood, and medical background. Laboratory testing is ordered where it will change management, including thyroid and metabolic testing.

Treatment options

Hormone therapy, non-hormone prescription therapy, and lifestyle treatment are discussed with the benefits and risks of each. Which is appropriate depends on your history and your priorities.

Pelvic floor symptoms and genitourinary symptoms are treated within the practice.

Long-term health

Bone density, cardiovascular risk, and pelvic health are screened and managed after menopause. Strength training is part of the plan.

Common questions

How do I know if I am in perimenopause?

The diagnosis is clinical. Changes in cycles, sleep, mood, energy, joints, or libido, often beginning in the forties, are evaluated together with your history.

Am I too young for perimenopause?

Perimenopause commonly begins in the forties and can begin earlier. Age alone does not rule it out.

Do you prescribe hormone therapy?

Yes, when it is appropriate. Your clinician reviews your history and discusses hormone and non-hormone options with you.

My labs are normal. Is there anything else to do?

Often yes. Normal labs exclude some conditions. They do not exclude perimenopause, and treatment options remain.

Can this be handled virtually?

Most visits can be virtual, with in-person appointments when an examination is needed.

Do you take insurance for menopause care?

Embody Health accepts select insurance plans and verify your benefits before your first visit. Coverage varies by plan; we verify your benefits before your first visit. Self-pay pricing is available.
