Perimenopause and menopause
Evaluation and treatment of perimenopause and menopause symptoms. In person or virtually.
Perimenopause can begin in the late thirties or forties, often years before periods stop. The diagnosis is clinical. A single lab value does not confirm or rule it out.
Your clinician takes a full history of your symptoms, cycles, sleep, mood, and medical background. Laboratory testing is ordered where it will change management, including thyroid and metabolic testing.
Hormone therapy, non-hormone prescription therapy, and lifestyle treatment are discussed with the benefits and risks of each. Which is appropriate depends on your history and your priorities.
Pelvic floor symptoms and genitourinary symptoms are treated within the practice.
Bone density, cardiovascular risk, and pelvic health are screened and managed after menopause. Strength training is part of the plan.
Your first visit includes a full history, examination as indicated, and labs when needed. You leave with a written care plan and a follow-up schedule.
